Donkey Car is an opensource DIY self driving platform for small scale cars. I started this project with Adam Conway in 2017. He built the hardware and I wrote the software. Since then the project has been built more than 5000 times.
The cars are built using a standard 1/16th scale RC car, a raspberry pi and a camera. Then you can drive the car around a track to collect training data and then train a tensorflow model that can then drive the car autonomously.
This project has continued to get better after I stepped away in 2020.
