Back from Pondicheri

Back from Pondicheri
Pondicheri was a good time with interesting people. We left at midnight after a club session at Taika to start the 8 hrs bus journey on Indian roads. Most everyone was European, three Norwegians (got everyone drinking whiskey on the bus at 6am), some Germans, Dutch, and two Indians.
There was an interesting construction site outside our hotel window. The laborers pouring the concrete were barefoot! I like to play in the mud don’t get me wrong but concrete, solid!
Motivating 25 people to do anything but wander aimlessly one the beach is an effort hard to summon regardless of the alcohol consumption. That said, I rented a motor bike and cruzed around the streets and found more dead ends in one hour than I have in my whole life. The dead ends are different than they are in the states. The roads start off as a main road and then slowly get smaller and smaller until you’re on a single sidewalk with sewer drains blocking the way.
Later I met up with the beautiful German girls and Vieren who also had scooters. We visited the self proclaimed “center of the Universe” in Auroville. It is a transcendental meditation center with a concentration room constructed inside a giant gold sphere. The concentration room was closed to tourists but the back roads on a scooter were good fun.
Also I was “accepted” to volunteer as a biodiesel technician in a remote town in the souther state of Tamil Nadu. I will do that for at least a month and see how it goes. The website is on hold for the moment.
